Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer for the Michigan Museums Association (MMA). MMA shares expertise and resources to promote standards and practices that make the Michigan museum community thrive. Our volunteers make that possible! All volunteers are expected to be MMA members.

Volunteer Job Overview

Three advocacy events in February and March of 2024 will provide MMA members with the opportunity to connect with federal and state legislators and talk about the needs and value of the Michigan museum community. Project volunteers will help with research and participant support activities. You do not need to be attending any of the events to be a volunteer.

The Advocacy Team will assist with creating delegate support and supplementary meeting materials, and will support social media efforts before, during, and after the events.

The team will mostly work online through Basecamp with bi-weekly conference calls on Thursdays at 11 am, beginning January 4.
