Now Accepting Concurrent Session Proposals

The Michigan Museums Association seeks proposals for concurrent sessions to take place during our annual conference. The conference will be October 21-23, 2024 in Kalamazoo. Concurrent sessions will be held at the Radisson Plaza Hotel at Kalamazoo Center on Tuesday, October 22 between 9 am and 5 pm.

The theme of the conference is MI Museums: Navigating Changing Landscapes. Sessions are sought that focus on the theme related to a variety of content areas. Some non-theme related sessions will also be offered, again related to a variety of content areas.

Concurrent sessions are one-hour long and can utilize a panel, mini-workshop, or discussion format. For each session, a projector and screen will be provided. The average concurrent session has about 20-30 attendees who come from all sizes and types of museums from throughout Michigan. Presenters are encouraged to provide handouts, share slides, and time for questions.

Session proposals must be submitted online via SurveyMonkey by the end of day on April 10, 2024. Final selection will take place by April 26 and presenters will be notified by May 1. All session presenters are expected to register for the conference and acceptance of proposals is dependent upon this expectation.

Is one hour too short for your content? You might consider submitting a half-day workshop proposal.

For more information about the conference, contact the MMA office at 313-334-7342, email lcbrisson@michiganmuseums.org.
