Please consider contacting your state legislators to share the importance of Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA) funds during this crisis and their critical need during recovery.

Please also consider contacting your federal legislators to share the value of National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), and Institute for Museum and Library Services (IMLS) funding and how additional relief funds will support museums.

Dear (Add Legislator Name)
My name is (add name), and I (add whether you participate in a cultural organization or what your connection to the history and/or arts and cultural community). COVID-19 has had devastating impacts on so many aspects of our lives, including our cultural organizations. As our lives get back to normal slowly, our communities will want to ensure that their festivals, libraries, and museums will reopen. We will need the help of the State of Michigan to continue to support these organizations through the appropriations process by supporting the Michigan Council of Arts and Cultural Affairs for FY 21.
We are strongly encouraging you to continue to fund the Michigan Council of Arts and Cultural Affairs in the FY 19-20 at the level of $10,150,000. This funding supports more than 1,000 programs across almost every county in the state.
