Camp Program Developer and Teacher, June 7-August 20

Under the direction of the Education Staff, this intern will help refine the curriculum of six summer camp sessions, to be delivered to elementary school children in Ann Arbor.  The successful candidate will also co-teach these camps with a full-time AAHOM educator.  Requirements:  at least two years undergraduate coursework with emphasis on education classes or science classes; experience with working with elementary-aged students in informal programs; some experience in developing children’s activities; must pass a background check.

Workshops/Programs Assistant, June 7-August 15

Under the direction of the Manager of ScienceWork Lab Classes, this intern will update current workshops to reflect recent changes in practice,  research new activities and demonstrations for new classes, will draft lesson plans, will assemble new class materials and kits, and will teach summer workshops as time permits.  Requirements:  at least two years undergraduate coursework that includes education and/or science classes; demonstrated success in developing and delivering activities for children in camps, schools, etc.; must pass a background check.

 

Distance Learning Assistant--Eight Weeks, Dates Negotiable

Under the direction of the Manager of Distance Learning Programs, this intern will focus on evaluating the expenses of our interactive videoconferences and researching other opportunities for program development.   Requirements:  some accounting experience or familiarity with accounting; familiarity with state content expectations; research skills relating to program development; must pass a background check.  Dates for this  two-month summer internship are negotiable.
