Marketing and Social Media Manager -- Lakeshore Museum Center 

This is an exempt, full-time, permanent position ideal for an individual who is organized, outgoing, strong in a team environment, and works well with minimal oversight. Salary range is $37,000 - $40,000 annually with benefits including holiday, vacation, and sick time, 401K match, health, dental, and vision insurance.

Organizational Overview: The Lakeshore Museum Center (LMC), a non-profit organization, located in Muskegon, Michigan, is a multi-site museum. The mission of the Lakeshore Museum Center is to preserve and interpret, through exhibits, education, and programs, the natural and cultural history of Muskegon County.

Position Overview: 

  • Develop, implement, and track a marketing strategic plan for LMC
  • Maintain, update, and provide content (written, photographic, video) for LMCs marketing venues and social media channels;
  • Place advertisements in/with various publications, broadcast, and online media platforms;
  • Plan, track, and manage a marketing/advertising budget by site;
  • Oversee and supervise marketing interns;
  • Compile statistics, analyze and track social media metrics and paid advertising, and adjust spending accordingly to maximize impact;
  • Provide customer service through various mediums and directly to the public by answering inquiries;
  • Attend LMC program events to capture images and information for marketing purposes.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Two-year degree in related field; Four-year degree preferred
  • Two years minimum experience with position tasks outlined
  • Proven, strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Proven, excellent communication skills, written and oral
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in communicating ideas in concise words and images to communicate across all platforms (share examples)
  • Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency
  • Positive attitude and ability to work weekend and evening events
