Join MMA members for an online social event. Grab a drink (non-alcoholic or otherwise) and jump on Zoom to connect with colleagues in a fun way.

Registration

The event is limited to MMA members only. Attendance is free, but registration is required. You will need to log in to your membership account to see the registration option. 

If you have been laid off or furloughed from a Michigan museum, please consider joining with the free temporary COVID-19 membership

Location

The MMA Zoom account. You can join via phone or internet. Instructions for connecting will be sent with registration confirmation. 

Scary Museum Drinks

Red Rot
1 ½ oz London dry gin
½ oz St. Germain
½ oz Cherry Heering (or sub brandy mixed with maraschino cherry juice)
½ oz lemon juice
2 dashes Peychaud's Bitters

Shake vigorously in a cocktail shaker with ice, strain into a coupe glass.

Unpaid Internship
1 ½ oz Irish Whiskey
½ oz Barrow's Intense or Domaine de Canton, Ginger Liqueur
1 tsp Two James Spirits Nain Rouge Absinthe Verte
1 Sugar Cube
4 dashes Peychaud's Bitters
Lemon peel for garnish

In a mixing glass, combine sugar, bitters, and a few drops of water.
Mix until sugar is dissolved, and add whiskey and ginger liqueur.
Add plenty of ice and stir.
Pour absinthe into a chilled cocktail glass, and rotate glass until the inside is well coated.
Discard the excess.
Strain the liquid from your mixing glass into the serving glass. Garnish with a lemon peel.

Distracted Chaperone
12 dashes Angostura bitters (¼ ounce)
½ oz maple syrup
¾ oz lemon juice
1 oz Bulleit Bourbon
1 oz red wine (such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah or Petite Sirah)
burnt lemon peel for garnish

Shake well in a cocktail shaker with ice and strain into a coupe glass. Burn zest of a lemon peel with a match to add aromatic smokiness.

Van Meegeran 
3 oz apple cider
5 oz fresh lime juice
¾ oz pear simple syrup (or syrup from canned pears)
2 dashes orange bitters
1 Tbsp diced apples and pears for garnish
Splash of tonic

Combine all ingredients but tonic, shake with ice and pour into a snifter glass. Top with tonic, garnish with apples and pears. Add additional ice if needed.

Getty Kouros
2 oz aloe juice
1 ¼ oz unsweetened cranberry juice
½ oz lime juice
¾ oz honey syrup
¼  oz grenadine
Lime for garnish

Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a lime wheel.
