iPhone App Opportunity
Juncanoo (www.juncanoo.com) is seeking museums that want iPhone apps to help beta test our new service. If you're interested, please complete our survey (http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/TF8V6BG), and 50 will be chosen at random to waive the set-up fee ($500 value) for their app, and the first month's hosting fee ($100 value). In return, we'd like your feedback.
Two museums have already taken advantage of our beta and launched iPhone apps with us; the Mutter Museum (download at bit.ly/muttermuseum) and the Fairmount Park Art Association (download at bit.ly/MWWAudio), and both have each seen hundreds of downloads over the past couple of months.
Apps help educate guests, tap into their social networks, and distribute guides. They can also help generate revenue through direct sales, e-commerce, or donations. Please email ayo@juncanoo.com for more information.
Michigan Cultural Data Project
The Michigan Museums Association recommends you get involved with the new Michigan Cultural Data Project -- the first online financial, programmatic and operational management tool of its kind for arts and cultural organizations.
This unique system will provide your organization with the tools necessary to analyze and benchmark your financial and organizational data. By participating in the Michigan CDP, you will be part of a successful and growing project that will allow the arts community as a whole to better articulate and provide evidence of the sector's assets and needs, as well as its contributions to the state and the country. Best of all, the CDP will be sponsored in Michigan by a diverse set of foundations and will be provided to all nonprofit cultural organizations in Michigan at no cost.
The Michigan CDP Web site (www.miculturaldata.org) lists training opportunities and will provide answers to many of your questions about the project; meanwhile, please feel free to contact the Michigan CDP Help Desk at 1-877-MICDP-01 (1-877-642-3701) or help@miculturaldata.org with any other questions.
