Ask an Expert:
Native Narratives

Tuesday, June 29
10:00 am

How do you talk about indigenous communities in exhibits or programming if you are not a tribal member? Join Eric Hemenway, Director of Archives/Records for the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians, for a conversation about Native narratives and how to share them.

Eric works to collect and curate historical materials pertaining to LTBB Odawa. Those materials are used to create exhibits, signage, publications, curriculums, programs and support the tribal government. Eric has experience working under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). Eric currently sits on the Michigan Historical Commission and Little Traverse Conservancy. He is a past board member for the Michigan Historical Society, Michigan Humanities Council, National NAGPRA Review Committee and Emmet County Historical Commission.
